John Alden - Understanding BPM Value Measurement:  The role of the BPMM

Dr. John Alden is the Founder and Managing Partner of Capability Measurement, a consulting and measurement firm that leverages open standards and assessment frameworks to pinpoint organizational pain. Results guide change programs for process improvement (and/or redesign).
• Achieved OMG global standardization for the Business Process Maturity Model
• Created collaborative knowledge management program for the nation’s first Homeland Security technology incubator
• Lead SME for APQC benchmarking research on enterprise BPM initiatives
• Designed/delivered SaaS talent management process assessment capability

Prior to founding Capability Measurement, Dr. Alden served as a senior executive at Accenture in the Talent Management and Organization Performance business where he lead research and consulting around human capital development for private and public sector clients.

Prior to Accenture, Dr. Alden led several dozen BPM projects of global companies and U.S. federal government agencies.  As an entrepreneur, he has been an advisor to venture investors and a member of the executive teams of several startups.

Before entering the business sector, he served as an academic researcher, senior government policy analyst and non-profit start up executive.   In this period of time, he served on non-profit advisory boards, committees and participated in research under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences.
