Dick Quartel - Novay - Masterclass Business Requirements Management Dick Quartel, Novay
Dick Quartel is a member of the scientific staff in the ‘Service Architectures’ expert group of NOVAY since 2007. In this function he held several roles, including project manager, scientific consultant, and scientific researcher. His research interests include service-oriented design and architecture, business process management, model-driven software development, service composition and semantic interoperability, and, more in general, behaviour modelling and refinement of distributed systems. Previously, Dick worked as an assistant professor in the area of distributed system’s architecture and design at the EEMCS faculty of the University of Twente. His educational tasks included the development and presentation of various courses, the guidance of M.Sc. and B.Sc. students, and committee work for the educational programmes of Telematics and Computer Science. He participated in a number of national and European research projects, and is still responsible for the guidance of PhD students. Currently, Dick’s research activities focus on model-driven service development, requirements modelling and business rules. Dick has published papers in journals and at various conferences and workshops. He is program committee member of several conferences and workshops. Dick holds an M.Sc. degree, cum laude (1991), in Computer Science from the University of Twente and a Ph.D. degree (1998) in Computer Science from the same university.
