Derek is CEO and co-founder of Mendix, a leading software company and pioneer in Model-Driven Development. Derek received his MSc in Business Administration and is a graduate on the topic of business (process) modeling and risk simulation. Derek has written papers on a range of topics including MDD, BPM and agile software development. In his early career Derek lead an academic research project on developing virtual business games with core objective to optimize collaboration between business - and software engineers.
